I thought I would update you since my cardiologist visit, although there isn't a whole to tell just yet.
First, when he saw how short of breath I am, he gave me yet another medication (total of 16 to take now) that is a diuretic, potassium-sparing type. I am trying to sleep while sitting straight up, and it hasn't been easy. I'm hopeful this will be the magic pill to allow me to breath while lying flat. It would also be nice not to tire by walking down the hall way.
He said my heart muscle is very weak right now, and he wants to do a nuclear stress test. That is scheduled for Jan. 4. There may also be another cardiac cath in my future, to determine if the current stent is patent and to see if another blockage now requires a stent.
This has been such a sudden life style change that it seems a lot, especially when you are sleep deprived. That makes everything else seem out of focus. I know there are so many who have more major issues than I do, that I feel extremely blessed. I appreciate all the cards, prayers, and gestures showing how much you care. They mean more than you know.
Christmas Blessings and Love,
Hopefully I will be able to give a better update when I FINALLY get in to see a cardiologist. Until this incident, I had never "needed" one. The stent was placed in the artery known as "The Widow Maker" on Nov.11, and only with the help of my Primary Care doc am I able to get in to see a cardiologist a month later...To be continued Dec. 11.
Right now, I have some really difficult days of shortness of breath and nausea, and other days are just great. I am so thankful for my good friends who are there for me always, running errands, visiting, prayers and cards. Family has been wonderful, too.
Medical update from Ida:
" I'm doing better. Going to Physical Therapy, back to ortho on the 17th and hopefully my boot will come off. Doing so much better since they took off the cast!! ... will be up to par soon".

Good morning, Verna,
Ocean is having his surgery this morning. It was a C1-C2 fracture at the base of the skull. It will involve at least 1 screw where the odontoid process is located, part of the axis for moving the head. He may or may not be in a halo frame for a few months. We will see.
It was a hit and run. He was a passenger. No drugs/alcohol involved.
Ocean is 19 and he and Omnia, his mom, are scared to death. All prayers are welcome.
Their address is Ocean Campbell 260 NW 34th Terrace, Miami, FL 33127.

Carol Reinhardt, Gamma Lambda-Manhattan: I am still asking for prayers for my 92 yr old father and my family. The doctor told them on Saturday Nov. 24th that he only has "Days" left. On Tuesday Nov. 27th, he signed himself out of the hospital and into hospice care. He has been in a lot of pain and we believe the cancer is winning this battle. I am traveling to Texas along with all my sibling to see my dad and say "Good Bye". He has not been eating, so we do not know how long he has. Thank You!
Asking for the prayer warriors to give attention to Lindsey, a sister of Tiffany Rilley of Epsilon Pi Chapter in Pratt. Lindsey has recently given birth and they found a brain tumor. She is starting her chemo today 12/4/18. Please lift Lindsey up in prayer for a successful treatment so she can raise her babies and remain with her family. Strength to meet what is ahead is very necessary for the family.

Debbie Colvin’s husband, Monty, suffered from a couple of seizures around the week of Thanksgiving. This is an UPDATE on Monty from Debbie (Theta Omega).
Monty’s loss of blood required 2 blood infusions and was caused by Two Lesions in the stomach. The doctor burned the lesions and then stapled. The doctor was very surprised of the amount of blood in his stomach. It took quite awhile to clean the blood out of his stomach before he could find what the culprit was. He coughed so much blood up to start with that I didn’t think that there would be too much more in his tummy. They are not sure what the cause of his seizure is YET! He also has nasty rashes in his knees, elbows, hips and his Derrière. They are testing on what it is or what the cause is. They also have his low blood pressure up but not where it should be. He’s lost almost 10 pounds in two weeks. He can finally breath without having to fight to breathe. His COPD has been quite naughty lately! They are in the final stage of moving him from the ICU to a room where possibly he can get some much needed sleep.
Debbie and Monty’s address: 1011 Tom St., Vermillion, SD 57069
