Today is World Refugee Day, a day to remember, honor, and pray for refugees around the world. Over the last few months, the world has looked on as millions of Ukrainians have been displaced from their homes by the Russian military onslaught. Sadly, however, the worldwide refugee crisis is not limited to Ukraine or Eastern Europe. Syria, Venezuela, Afghanistan, and South Sudan are just some

of the other current hotspots around the world where people are being forced to flee violence, oppression, and hunger. According to the UN Refugee Agency, over 84 million people are currently displaced—the most since World War II.

This World Refugee Day, let’s lift up refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in prayer. Let us pray that they receive the help they need right now and that peace returns to their homes.
